Thousand Year Old Vampire: Live, laugh, love… kill πŸ§›β€β™€β€ Solo RPG review

Thousand Year Old Vampire is a solo RPG by Tim Hutchings, published in 2020. The idea behind the game is that you journal events of your life as a vampire, either in long-form descriptions or in short, to-the-point summary statements.

  1. Just found out about you, and I've already binged most of your content. Super informative and a great place for someone to start when looking a game up.
I have a question though, you've already reviewed three games that use the Year Zero Engine, do you plan on reviewing the Mutant Year Zero itself any time soon?

  2. Best RPG I've ever played. I didn't expect it to be quite that good, but it is. It gets deeper into the core of who you are than could ever happen in front of other people, which to me, fully unlocks the best part of what role playing can do.

  3. It is definitely pretty flexible in what you can do. My first vampire actually ended up more like a demon. It started with me giving them a demon like tail as their first mark, but they ended up getting horns and hooved feet but they also ended up meeting 'spirits' and I took spirits as more demonic sort and they learned fire magic. The final prompt was that my body finally wears out and I can no longer feed, but it didn't say I died. So I took that as I turned fully into a spirit and left the mortal plane behind.
